Common name: Trailing hop-bush.

Description:
Dioecious or rarely polygamo-dioecious prostrate shrub, to 1.5 m diam.; leaves simple, sessile, angular-obovate to oblanceolate, acute, rarely acuminate, sometimes tridentate at the apex, 0.8-3 x 0.4-0.9 cm, viscous, with flat glands, sparsely puberulent or rarely glabrous, margin revolute, usually with 1-4 irregular teeth or lobes to 2.5 mm long and mostly above the middle of the leaf, sometimes entire.

Flowers solitary or 2 together, terminal; pedicels 3.5-7.5 mm long; sepals 4 or 5, rarely as many as 7, linear-lanceolate, often unequal in size, 2-3 mm long, caducous; stamens 8-10; ovary usually pubescent near the apex, sometimes glabrous.

Capsule 3- or 4-winged, broad-oblong in lateral view with undulate valves, 11-13 x 8-10.5 mm, glabrous, septifragally dehiscent, wings c. 0.5 mm broad, extending from the base to the apex of the capsule.

Distribution:  Occurs in open Eucalyptus camaldulensis or E. fasciculosa woodlands in low-lying areas.
