Common name: Button grass, finger grass.
Description:
Annual, sometimes prostrate or 10-40 cm high; leaf blades flat, scabrous, sometimes ciliate with long hairs.
Spikes 4-10, digitate, 5-12 mm long, finally spreading and deciduous with the spikelets attached; rhachis of the spike keeled on the back; spikelets c. 5 mm long, the first glume c. 2.5 mm long, the second c. 3 mm long, mucronate, both scabrous on the keel; lemmas 4-5 mm long, scabrous on the keel.
