Common name: Holly fern.
Description:
Rhizome short, erect, densely clad with dark-brown scales; fronds to 1 m long; stipe pale-brown, scaly; lamina pinnate; pinnule thick and coriaceous; sori scattered on the undersurface, rounded, covered with a peltate indusium.

Occasional on shaded banks or in rock crevices.
S.Aust.: MU, SL, SE. Adventive in Qld; N.S.W.; Vic. Native of Japan.
