Description:
Perennial shrubs usually 30-50 cm high, usually moderately branched; leaves linear-triangular, 1.5-4 X 0.3-0.6 cm, usually acute, scarcely constricted towards the base, curved upwards, slightly dorsiventrally constricted at the base but terete or almost so towards the apex, green to bluish-green.
Inflorescence a terminal rounded or flat-topped thyrse borne above the leaves; flowers 5-merous, almost sessile; calyx lobes triangular, c. 1 mm long, acute, fleshy, green; corolla campanulate, white or cream; lobes lanceolate, 1.5-2.5 mm long, acute, with a dorsal ridge and recurved at the apex; nectary scales transversely oblong, often slightly emarginate, scarcely constricted towards the base, slightly fleshy, yellow; ovaries ovoidconical, gradually constricted into short styles, with 8-10 ovules.
Follicles erect, smooth, dehiscing by a apical pore.
