Description:
Delicate annual 3-8 cm high, little-branched but rarely branched from the basal rosette, glabrous, with branches sometimes ridged; basal leaves rosulate, lanceolate to oblanceolate, rarely linear-lanceolate, 3-5 x 1-3 mm, acute or obtuse, erect, often withering early; cauline leaves ovate to lanceolate, 2-4 mm long, acute, erect, with pairs scarcely connate at the base.
Inflorescence a thyrse reduced to single terminal flowers in each diachasium; calyx with a tube 2-5 mm long, obpyramidal; lobes c. 0.5 mm long, pointed, slightly fleshy; corolla funnel-shaped, yellow; tube 4-8 mm long; lobes lanceolate, 2-3 mm long, usually rounded; stamens with their filaments fused to the whole length of the corolla tube.
Capsule ellipsoid, abruptly tapering into a short thin style with a broad 2-lobed stigma; septicidal capsule without styles, 3-5 mm long and splitting only at the apex.
