Citation: L., Sp. Pl. 992 (1753).

Derivation: Greek keras, horn; phyllon, leaf; alluding to the horn-like divisions of the leaves.

Synonymy: Not Applicable

Common name: None

Description:
Leaves in whorls of 3-8, once to thrice forked into linear segments.

Flowers small; perianth often dentate or lacerate at the apex; anther connective produced beyond the cells, opening lengthwise, often coloured.

Distribution:  10 species, cosmopolitan. The species resemble those of Myriophyllum, which has simple or pinnately divided leaves.
