Description:
Shrub to 2 m; glabrous, sometimes pruinose; leaflets 4-7 pairs, ovate to ovate-lanceolate; petiole with a large squat dark gland towards the base.
Flowers in a corymbose raceme; upper 3 stamens sterile, lateral 6 fertile, lowest generally reduced and sterile.
Pod 6-8 x c. 1 cm, cylindrical when mature, straight or curved; seeds crowded, flattish, dull, olive-brown, lying at right angles to the valve and their flattened faces parallel to the membranous partitions.

C. barclayaria Sweet, Fl. Aust. t.32 (1828). An erect herbaceous perennial with leaflets in 4-7 pairs, lanceolate to lanceolate-oblong with slightly smaller more slender pod than C. planitiicola, has been recorded from a single persistent colony near the Salisbury Railway Station.Fig. 247F.
