Description:
Shrub, small and spreading or short-lived perennial, whole plant hirsute except the corolla and pods; leaflets 6-13 pairs, sessile, ovate-lanceolate, obliquely rounded at the base, aristate.
Flowers in erect terminal and axillary racemes; corolla veins prominent when dry; upper 3 stamens sterile, lower 7 fertile of which 2 are longer than the remainder.
Pod flat, 2.5-3.5 x c. 1.3 cm, flat, with raised blackish-brown ridges over the seeds, edges of the pod paler; seeds obcordate, thick, wrinkled, with an angular ridge, dull, dark-coloured.

Biology:
C. venusta F. Muell., a densely minutely pubescent erect shrub with 6-15 pairs of mucronate oblong leaflets and conspicuous cordate acuminate stipules, occurs in N.T. but has not yet been collected in S.Aust. Flowers: in early summer.
