Cardamine tenuifolia

Citation: Hook., J. Bot. (Hooker) 1:247 (1834).

Synonymy: C. pratensis L. var. tenuifolia (Hook.)Hook. f., Fl. Tasm. 1:19 (1855); C. hirsuta L. var. tenuifolia (Hook.)Rodway, Fl. Tasm. 6 (1903); C. finitima O. Schulz, Bot. Jb. 32:537 (1903).

Common name: Slender bitter cress.

Description:
Perennial herb, rhizomatous or stoloniferous; stems weak, to 1 m long, glabrous; leaves pinnate, with 1-5 pinnae, pinnae ovate to filiform, reducing towards the apex.

Sepals 2-5 mm long; petals 5-12 mm long, white or lilac; stamens 6.

siliqua linear, 15-40 mm long, 1-1.5 mm wide, erect to spreading, rarely overtopping the inflorescence; style 1.5-3 mm long; pedicels in fruit spreading to horizontal, 1-3 cm long; seeds ovoid to oblong, compressed, with or without a slight wing, 1-2 mm long.

Distribution:  Found in swamps.

Conservation status: native

Flowering time: Oct. — March.
