Description:
Shrub to 3 m; branchlets pubescent to glabrous; leaf blade pubescent to glabrous, linear to ovate, 0.75-14 mm long, in transverse section depressed-angular-obovate to very broadly obtriangular.
Bracteoles usually connate and persistent (sometimes free and persistent or connate and deciduous), often ridged; hypanthium adnate to the style for part of its length. (the adnate region is the strongly constricted region above the ovary), 7-15 mm long; calyx segments ovate to suborbicular, 0.75-2.5 mm long (excl. awn), the apex produced into an awn to 17 mm long; petals white to pink, elliptic to lanceolate, 3.5-7.5 mm long; stamens c. 23-45, 1-seriate.
