Description:
Small spreading to erect or dwarf shrub with slender stems from a thickened rootstock, to 30 cm high; branchlets glabrous; leaves 1-foliolate, subsessile; lamina narrowly elliptic, 6-20 x 1-3 mm, glabrous.

flowers mostly solitary, terminal and axillary; flower-stalks thickening towards the apex, 2-bracteate at the base; sepals ovate, acute, 5-6 mm long, pink or red; petals 4-6 mm long, pink or white; stamens sometimes caducous; filaments terete, pubescent towards the base, sometimes glandular towards the apex; anthers with minute apicula; stigma globular.

Cocci 2.5-3 mm long, glabrous; seeds c. 1.5 mm long, smooth, black and shining.
