Citation: Banks ex Andrews, Bot. Rep. 3:t. 198 (1801).

Derivation: After Ferdinand Bauer, 1760-1826, who accompanied Robert Brown to Australia, and his brother Francis Bauer, 1758-1840, both botanical artists of Austrian birth.

Description:
Erect or prostrate shrubs; the opposite sessile 3-foliolate leaves giving an appearance of a whorl of 6 leaves.

Petals longer than the sepals, white or pink; filaments filiform; styles recurved.

Capsule broad, loculicidal.

Distribution:  3 species, mainly in fairly wet areas.
