Common name: Red azolla, Pacific azolla, red duckweed.
Description:
Plants ovate in outline, roots simple; pinnae irregularly produced; leaves triangular but apex rounded, margins membranous and translucent; surface smooth, bright-red or green in shaded situations; microsporangiate massulae spherical, prominently barbed all over.
