Description:
Climber to 6 m but usually less than 3 m in S. Aust.; leaves ovate, subcordate, with somewhat undulate margins, 2.5--8 X 2--5.5 cm, petioles 5--20 mm long, small axillary irregularly shaped tubers present especially on older parts.
Inflorescences usually simple; bracts 0.7-- 1.5 mm long, persistent; pedicels 2--3 mm long; lower bracteoles connate, acute, hyaline, c. 0.5 mm long; upper bracteoles greenish-white, slightly shorter than the perianth; flowers scented; perianth white, spreading, 1.5--2.5 mm long, the segments ovate-oblong to elliptic; stigmas swollen.

Biology:
As reported for Java by van Steenis, (1957) Flora Malesiana ser. 1, 5:200-304, this species appears to reproduce in Australia only from the aerial tubers.
