Description:
Plants 2-3 m high, branched; leaves many in a dense rosette, usually 50-60 cm long, not spotted, margins spiny.

Inflorescence usually unbranched; flowers scarlet, c. 4 cm long.

Distribution:  Planted, often as a hedge.

S.Aust.: EP, NL, MU, YP, SL, KI.   Native to South Africa.

Conservation status: naturalised

Flowering time: Aug. — Sept.
