Description:
Slender erect annual usually 10-30 cm high; sheaths scabrid.
Panicle 2-10 cm long, loose, broadly ovoid, branches very much longer than the spikelets; pedicels up to twice as long as the spikelets; gradually thickened at the apex; spikelets 2.5-3 mm long; glumes about one-third longer than the lemmas, serrate on the keel, 1-3-veined, acuminate; lemmas both awned, scabrid towards the apex.
