Description:
Perennial herbs or undershrubs; vestiture of glandular hairs; leaves cauline, opposite, flat, petiolate, dentate.
Capitula in dense terminal panicles, homogamous; involucres campanulate; bracts herbaceous with scarious margins, hardly imbricate, 1- or 2-seriate; receptacle fiat or slightly convex, naked, pitted; florets numerous, all tubular, bisexual; corolla funnel-shaped, slender below, 5-lobed above; anthers obtuse at the base, with short obtuse appendages at the apex, slightly exserted; style branches with obtuse papillose filiform terminal appendages.
Achenes slender, subterete, angular; pappus uniseriate, of barbellate to plumose bristles.
