Description:
Woolly-tomentose shrub with the ultimate branchlets ending in glabrous slender spines; leaves elliptic to oblanceolate, 7-12 mm long, 2-4 mm wide.
Capitula 8-10 mm long 5-8 mm diam.; involucral bracts ovate (outer) to linear-lanceolate (inner), densely tomentose outside but with glabrous margins and tips.
Achenes with 80-90 pappus bristles.
